when documenting love stories, you will typically find me asking questions, fascinated while listening to couples share stories of their lives together. how they met, how they’ve grown, and things they dream to accomplish together.
i first met mk + gavin around twelve or so years ago when we attended high school together in nashville. i remember seeing them in the hallway together, outside of the band room, or sitting in the courtyard during lunch. i briefly caught up with them in september at our ten year reunion where they brought their adorable son, henry. and thanks to another high school friend, gavin read that i would be visiting nashville again and reached out about photographing their family in their new home.
we played in henry’s room, made funny faces through the back door, flipped through corduroy, and snacked on apples with jim james playing in the background before heading down the street to watch the sunset.
